Summer is on its way as the Miller told his tale

Every Sunday there is a surprise vehicle or two that turns up.

Today one was a BMW Izetta, one of 200,000 made by BWW between 1955 and 1964. A second hand Izetta in good nick sells for the price of a new 1200 GS. The other was an immaculate 1981 Yamaha Midnight Special that Geoff had secured as company for Guy's version that arrived in May this year.

Beemer Dave had returned from seeing Marquez win the Moto GP World Championship in Thailand and reporting a brilliant trip. Good to see Prof Dist amongst the throng.

The Bowe-Jo group headed off to Fairbridge and Pinjarra with others heading to the GS watering point of Dwellingup.

A small group of Andrew, David, Peter and Bozo took a short summer ride through the shady roads of the scarp. Heading past the airport we took Campersic Road to Haddrill Road and then back to Campersic Road via Boulonnais Drive. Then a run on Connemara to Lancewood and O'Brien Road with a loop deviation on to Rolling Hills Road. A quiet O'Brien Road was followed by Copley Dale Road, Berry Road, Reserve Road and Reen Road. A short interlude at the Gidgegannup Bakery before a run on Bunning Road to Mundaring.

Back in time to watch an amazing GP with tension from start to finish. Great to see Jack Miller on the podium after a very closely fought tyre shredding race.

Thanks to Peter for doing tail end duties.

Summer is just around the corner with temperatures on the return to Perth nudging 35 degrees.
