The Benedictine monks who run Australia's only monastic town, north of Perth, have decided to shut the New Norcia Hotel immediately (apparently).
Locals in the area received a letter saying the board of the Benedictine community had decided to close the country pub permanently. No explanation given for the decision.

They did have a break in late last year (Dec)...not sure if that was the straw that broke the camels back.
