BMW Helmet System 6 EVO visor

Post by Swampy »

I dropped my helmet which has cracked the visor. BMW want approx. $120 for a replacement visor from Germany.

I have searched on the internet for something cheaper without success!!

Does anyone know where I could source one at a cheaper price please?

Be prepared for a very long wait if you do end up ordering a BMW visor. The dealer here doesn't stock visors of any kind and my Systems 7 visor took 5 months to get here. I've had every Systems helmet from Systems 1 right through and this will be my last System helmet because I cant get a simple thing like a visor which is a consumable and should be in stock at all times. I've discussed the problem all the way up to the Dealer Principal but it just falls on deaf ears so time for me to move on from BMW accessories and next helmet will be a Shoei equivalent for which parts are available off the shelf.

Thanks Dave, Good information there, I think I will be doing the same as you next time I'm in the market for a new one!!

Have ordered a visor from the UK, expensive but delivery within 4 days of posting apparently?

Swampy, I gotta ask...how did you drop your helmet? I see so many Riders hang their helmet on their mirrors or resting on their seat...a recipe for disaster. I place mine on my foot peg or on the ground which appears like a strange ritual but haven’t suffered d any damage yet. The helmet only has to be dropped once before it’s integrity is questioned.
Your thoughts?

Hi Digger,

I was at Auto Classic Monday morning and was actually carrying my helmet by the strap which I thought I had connected up to it's keeper!!

Woops!! My fault as I had not clipped the straps together properly and it fell straight onto the visor which cushioned the blow so no damage to the helmet itself !!
