Movember

Post by fozzieb999 »

Hi guys

I've been saved from a slow & painful death - because I had my GP (who I regularly see every couple of years) suggest a prostate exam. Yes it's digital and no it wasn't that bad.

He found an enlarged prostate that led to a biopsy and confirmation of prostate cancer.

No symptoms just a prostate almost as big as The Pudding growing outwards from the urethra (hence no frequent need to pee a few drops).

Five hours on the table with a robot working away and I'm here for the long haul thank goodness.

I'm one of at least six members who have been through this. There may well be more.

We need to talk about it more, understand prevention better and support more education in what it is.

It also supports male suicide prevention - globally a man takes his own life every minute of every day - that's 1,440 lives lost every day. It's not too far fetched to say that almost 100% of us has been - or will be - touched by this traumatic event. The ripple effect is far and wide for all the wrong reasons.

The FB link below is open for a month and all donations over $2 are tax deductible, so dig deep, throw in a few dollars and book an appointment with your friendly GP's middle digit :)
