LYCRA MADNESS

Picked up a bad dose of Bozo Lycra Magnetism today when I bowed to Mary's wishes to take a look at the new Elizabeth Quay in Perth.
Drove to South Perth and made use of our free transport passes to catch the ferry into Perth so as to avoid parking problems and was so glad I did.
Most of the new Quay so called highlights and pedestrian/cycle bridge was either blocked completely or made very difficult to access by major barriers erected all around the precinct much to the dismay of most of the visiting general public and tourists wanting to look at our beloved Emperors ugly concrete monument to himself.
The whole of Riverside Drive was also closed to traffic which also included Mounts Bay Road to the University of WA which must have caused major traffic jams and chaos in the CBD.
WHY? Because some bright spark had thought that Elizabeth Quay would a good place to start and finish "Bicycle Time Trials" on a Friday with the main route along these major arterial roads blocked to all traffic.
Bozo would have been delighted and utterly in his element attempting to lead and navigate a ride through all the obstacles and hundreds of lycra clad individuals swanning around all over the area
Had a quick bite to eat and beat a hasty retreat back to the ferry and to the relatively blissful peace and quiet of the South Perth Foreshore and home.
May try it again in 12 months time..........Maybe??
