Thursday 11 April MOJOs MUNDARING

Post by brian/5 »

A fantastic forecast for another day of riding - 29 deg and no rain
I am planning on leaving Gloria Jeans Ascot at 7:30am to go up to Mojos Mundaring
Ride leaving Mojos shortly after 9:00am. Destination and ride leader to be DD as
PeterB has buzzed off down south.

I'll be there for a coffee and chin wag and then going birthday shopping at a motorcycle shop.

Despite the absence of a key member (apparently off with hives) there was a solid 6 at Gloria Jeans including Robbie and MM Mark. Despite the best efforts of a large truck the Brian/5 group remained intact as they traversed the most difficult roads with the added hazard of a low sun. For much of the trip it was new roads giving surprise after surprise. We were joined by GS Bill, Mick S and the Young Mr Grice at Mojos for a trucking good discussion. The group headed to Goomalling. With an agreement on the destination, pathfinder and TEC. B/5 led five riders on a previously used southern loop to Goomalling. Ideal riding weather and conditions, even though we had deviations, road, power line, pipe and bridge works. These interruptions did not distract from the enjoyment as any delays if any were short.

For those interested the route out was the standard rat run to Bakers Hill with minor deviations through Beechina and Linley Valley. At Bakers Hill we had several depart the ride to head home due to time constraints. Then down to Spencers Brook, Burges to cross the Avon R. Up through Throssell, under the Hwy at Grass Valley and finally through Southern Brook and on to Lot 39 Store & Café Goomalling. We were surprised to still get good service after our last visit.

On the ride home riders peeled off at various points. The majority followed me down Haddrill, Katrine and Salt Valley.

Thanks all for the company and putting up with the short notice for a few turns. Chis (HRG) as TEC keeping the group together.
