The day started out with many positives - stunning new motorcycles for Vic and Rod Rocket Peter, 40 motorcycles at Dome, brilliant motorcycling weather, Navigator Nick back on a motorcycle, Noel progressing his recovery and the Club reaching 250 Members for the first time.
22 Riders participated in the Paul Keller Memorial Ride, again a record number, taking advantage of the first flush of green, minimal insects and very comfortable riding weather. Swampy, Bunbury Dan, Greg, Kevin, Ted, JJ, Sutho, R90s Mark, Richard, Diabolo Dave, MD Mike, Hermann, Brian/5, Survey Ross, Fiery Ross, Wightman, Goldie, Shiner Wright, Danny, Navigator Nick, Peter Bee and Bozo needed frequent corner marking to keep the group together as they headed to Canning Dam for the first stop.
Sighting 3 emus was the highlight of the run to the abandoned North Bannister before a scenic and winding sojourn to Wandering.
Cutting across to Crossman one motorcycle lost its rear numberplate in one of the many corners as it was not spotted by the following bikes. We temporarily lost two riders but they bobbed up in Boddington. An enjoyable run to Quindanning was followed by a meal on the lawn. Reminisces about German Paul followed and how much he enjoyed his time in the Club with his wide variety of motorcycles ranging up to 1800cc.
The run home was via Lower Hotham and Dwellingup with the ride ending up at Hopelands. A great group, with excellent corner marking and professional work by the Tail End Charlie Peter Bee.
Thanks to Swampy for organising the ride and his perfect timing with the weather.
