It's confirmed, Tom has COVID, and he is not well! There is a bit of ruckus in town as we refuel, and then we get the hell outta there. Tom decides to push on, and this Mob enter the APY Lands of South Australia. What stunning country it is out here. We pop out in the Northern Territory and continue heading East to our furthest point, Old Andado, on the Western edge of the Simpson Desert.

This Mob leave Finke, a remote Aboriginal Community, and continues heading East toward the Heritage-listed Old Andado Homestead. Last owned by the Clark Family and abandoned since 2012, Old Andado Homestead is seen as the only remaining Homestead of its kind in Australia. It is a poignant reminder of how life was without modern amenities, such as mains electricity, hot water systems, mains water, the telephone, and glass windows in some cases. Molly Clark, the widow of Malcom, was a pastoral and tourism pioneer from Central Australia in the Northern Territory of Australia and established the National Pioneer Women's Hall of Fame.

The Four Kinsmen leave the safety and security of Old Andado and parallel the fringes of the Simpson Desert as they gingerly make their way toward Chambers Pillar and Alice Springs for essential resupply before venturing North West toward the Tanami Desert. While in Alice Springs, Steve takes in the novelty that the Henley on Todd Regatta has to offer, a boat race without water, held on the dry river bed of the Todd River, which passes through the MacDonnell Ranges, the town of Alice Springs, Heavitree Gap, and the western part of the Simpson Desert. So far, so good.

Huey, Duey and Louie plus One depart the remote Community of Yuendumu and continue heading north west along the Tanami Road in the hope of reaching Rabbit Flat Roadhouse, the most remote roadhouse in Australia in its heyday. They run out of daylight and are forced to make do with a bush camp providing very little shelter and even less firewood! The following day, they reach the roadhouse, long since abandoned, and imagine what it would have been like living a life of isolation and loneliness. They then move onto the road to Lajamanu. Where the f*** is Lajamanu!

These four Adventurers need to get to Kununurra to replace tyres, which they find are wearing quicker than expected. They arrive at the remote locality of Kalkarindji to fanfare and celebration because of a historic event that happened 50 years prior. They cross the Border several times, but not before bush camping on the side of the picturesque Negri River. What a stunning location. They eventually find themselves in Kununurra and start the process of tyre shopping. The choices up there aren't great. The Sunset confirms that they could be heading into wildfires, burning out of control.

We leave the troubled town of Kununurra and head for Gibb River Road, a tourist hotspot on everybody's list of 'must-do' tourist routes here in Australia. We experience wildfires which have forced the closure of some of the gorges and waterfalls, but it does not impact our plans. We cross the notorious Pentecoste River with little fanfare and make our way to Ellenbrae Station for a well-earned dip in a billabong. The following day, we succumb to the tire-shredding conditions of the Gibb River Road.

The troubled Fourskins still find themselves on Gibb River Road and did not expect what happened next. They thought they were prepared, but the track conditions had another idea. Although they do get time to take in some of the majesty that the Kimberley has to offer, it's not long until they find themselves in a situation they never anticipated.

This pair of Duos starts making their way off Gibb River Road, but not before disaster strikes. Steve cops his 6th puncture in 48 hours! That fixed, they hit the blacktop for the mundane task of getting to Broome, where they hope they can obtain spare tubes to provide a bit of security that they'll get home. They resupply, visit the RFDS Base, and the following morning, they seek out 130-million-year-old footprints. Who would've thought!

We wake to a stunning sunrise in a bush camp, which won the Award for 'The Best Bush Camp In The Pilbara' (as voted by us), and we continue onward to Marble Bar, the hottest Town in Oz, where Tom experiences bike trouble. It's not a deal breaker and after some creative improvisation, the group continue to find a place to sleep. The following day, they make their way to Wittenoom, a Mining town with a dark history, and its legacy continues even today.

Finalé
The Boyz leave Wittenoom feeling a bit numb, considering the Town's history and the sad legacy left behind. They resupply at Tom Price and start feeling the drop in daytime temperatures as they continue heading South toward Perth, their final destination for this journey. They continue to experience unique bush camps and enjoy the atmosphere around each campfire as the end draws near.
Tom did not break his leg on this trip!
