Searching for Adventure
Update - end of day 4.
We left Perth and headed for the Off Centre Run gathering to be held at Mt Augustus on Saturday 8 August. We allowed ourselves 3.5 Days to get there. We arrived safely along with about 200 other riders from around Australia. We leave Sunday Morning and headed further Outback toward Carrawine Gorge.
See captions below.

The now abandoned Warriedar Station, a former pastoral sheep station 100 km from Perenjori. The homestead has been recently restored and is in great shape. Camping is available for a fee. We didn’t stay.

The old 6 stand shearer’s shed at another abandoned sheep station. This time at Thundelarra 70 km southeast of Yalgoo. The homestead was closed off being renovated by volunteers.
Back in the day, Shearer’s went from Station to Station the only way they knew how. They were a tough lot!

10 Pounds 10 Shillings seems like a good buy.

The remnants of a bygone era.

Thou Shall Not Pass!
Closed road north of Yalgoo. We checked with the local Shite who gave us their blessing to ride thru. “Just be mindful of water over the road and roadworks” they said.

Mt Gould lock up built in 1888 along the Landor-Meekatharra Road.
Sheep were introduced into the area by the Europeans. That scared off all the native wildlife; the food source for the local aboriginals.
Aboriginals slaughter sheep for food.
Whitefella gets pissed off.
Blackfella gets arrested and locked up.
Blackfella gets marched to Carnarvon.
Blackfella goes to Aboriginal Penal facility at Rottnest.
The rest is history.
