Sleepy Paul and Bozo headed out onto the gravel today to get some more off road kilometres on the KTM. Bozo switched from the RT he took to Catalanos to the GS in anticipation of wet conditions.
The recent rain made the normally straight forward ride to Mount Dale more interesting. Sections of the road were pretty slippery with lots of rutted clay sections with deep puddles. The last corner to Mount Dale needed good line selection with the inside being quite eroded.
The duo deviated to Barton's Mill on a road that Sleepy Paul described as very messy. The woops created by many trail bikes had filled with water and there was plenty of mud. Continuing along Ashendon Road some sections were smooth like a bitumen road and others were cut up and corrugated.
At Mundaring Weir there were brief excursions to South Ledge and North Ledge before the mandatory coffee in North Perth.
The KTM was covered in mud but it was a brilliant day to be slipping through the hills.
As the Beatles said "he roller coaster he got muddy waters" exactly describing the variety of conditions on the ride today.
