12 riders accompanied Astro Rob to start wearing the sprues from his tyres with first time travellers Rod and Owen. Cookie, Wes, Rod Rocket Peter, Mutimedia Mark, Astro Rob, Nick, Medic Mike, Ciaran, Rod, Owen, R90S Mark and Bozo zig zagged through Carmel to emerge on Mundaring Weir Road. Two riders overshot the Fern Road corner whilst the rest enjoyed a driver on a mobile phone on the wrong side of the road, a pile of white sand partially on the road and a large kangaroo that went within metres of Cookie. One of the missed riders had dropped his bike on the edge of the road and bent his foot brake lever and only had spongy front brakes. Eventually the group was herded back together. A stop at Mundaring Weir (with no commentary) and a pair of vise grip pliers sorted out the damaged foot brake lever. The group made its way carefully to the Lakes finding out that they do not stock brake fluid. A run along the enjoyable Talbot West Road got us to Qualen West Road. Only a few emus spotted. By this time we had lost both Wes and Cookie who headed to Beverley. The rest rode past the balancing rock to enter York via Trews Road. The run to Bakers Hill took a deviation at Trimmer Road and then took the Eadine Road to Clackline.
Bakers Hill was busy but had brake fluid. With a wide range of reservoirs filled the group headed back via Chidlows Well via Oyston, Ingpen, Burma, Bailup, Needham and Liberton Roads.
The ride ended at Mount Helena. Thanks to R90S Mark for running as tail end Charlie and the patience of the group whilst sorting the damaged bike.
By the time the group got home the Metropolitan Area was very dark and windy with imminent precipitation but we got back before the front arrived.
