Tenacious Twelve Tour Twisties

Post by Bozo »

With 100 bikes at the Border Run including many Sunday regulars, there was a solid turnout of 24 bikes and 30 people at Diverso. Noel was in good form and the cool sunny weather was a marked change to recent gatherings.

A Krauser required minor surgery with a spring on the side stand being refitted.

12 riders took on the single digit temperature to enjoy the cloudless sky and head to Dwellingup and the Nangas. Stubby, David P, Peter 2 Volts, Rainer, Shiner Wright, M D Mike, Mick S, Rob (Roy), Ralph, Brian/5, Peter Bee and Bozo managed to arrive at a closed Canning Dam despite the tortuous route made more challenging with detritus on the roads. A loop towards Wungong Dam was followed by a Rails Crescent loop to avoid roadworks. A quick stop at Nettleton Road before a run up the scarp through Jarrahdale and past Serpentine Dam. Confusing speed limit signs on roadworks were ignored before a flashy run up Del Park Road to the Blue Wren.

The chips were not all down as bacon, eggs, soup and burgers were consumed by riders who found their place in the sun. An enjoyable run on the Nangas was followed by the Coronation/Dowsett Road deviation to Pinjarra. The group split at Pinjarra with several riders wanting a detailed inspection of a site on Del Park Road. The rest headed "up the guts" via Hopeland to head home.

A stunning blue sky, a great group and lots of twisties made for an exhilarating day out. Thanks to Peter Bee, the corner markers and part time leader Mick S for helping make it a great day out.

Thanks Bozo for leading us into the countryside on such a perfect, but cool riding day. Relaxing lunch in warming sunshine and great return to the city.
