Sunday 3rd May - ride to Bindoon via Toodyay

Post by GS Mark »

At Catalanos there was a strong lack of interest in leading a ride, but plenty of interest in participating in one. R90S Mark volunteered for his first ride lead, with Ralph as TEC. There were 12 starters heading off towards Mundaring Weir. The weather started as fine and no wind but soon changed as we got into the hills with 11 deg registering for much of the time. The riders then headed to O'brien Rd but did it the opposite way to the usual direction. We then headed to Toodyay where the Moondyne festival was underway with the main thoroughfare blocked and many bushranger look-a-likes roaming the streets. The sun had come out by this time and warmed us slightly. We then did Julimar and Chittering and 8 riders and bikes arrived a bit later than usual in Bindoon. I was advised that officially it was National Women's Ride day with many participants within the cafe. We headed home via Chittering, Chittering Valley and Yalimar. Many thanks to everyone for a great ride day.

Thanks so much for yielding to my pressure and leading the ride. Sounds like it went very well and you followed it up with an interesting ride report. Obvious talent that should be tapped in the future 😎
