A run down south to please the Southerners. Leaving Ascot Gloria Jeans at 7:30am to traverse the Tonkin to reach Dome Byford for a 9am ish departure to possibly Harper Street Bakery & Café in Harvey.

Cool start at Gloria Jeans but still had 4 riders to follow me south on the Tonkin to Dome Byford. Nice to meet new member Willie on his R 18.
Total of 11 at Byford with 9 on the ride to the Harper Street Bakery and Café in Harvey. We wound our way south alongside the railway through Mundijong and Serpentine and out onto the SWH to pass through Pinjarra and take the minor diversion of Pinjarra - Williams, Burnside and Coolup East roads to end up at the Coolup Recreation Hall for our first stop.
Our usual route through West Waroona and West Wagurup was interrupted with bridgeworks on Eckersley Rd causing us a detour back onto the SWH after some exploration on a dead end road. We glided into the Harper Street Bakery and Café around 11:30 am with sun trying to penetrate cloud cover.
The usual banter proceeded as we devoured the tasty food and drinks. Not too busy and very relaxing sitting outside.
B/5 who had completed outstanding TEC duties heading South offered to lead us back on a different route popping us out onto the SWH at Yarloop. The 100m of dirt road was accepted by all. We utilised the SWH up to Pinjarra and then took the “ middle” route of Patterson, Corio, Hopelands, Kargotich to access the Tonkin for the drag home.
