Vietnam Tours (South / North)

If you're interested, I'm back from the recent tour, South Vietnam on 2 Wheels.

Starting in Hanoi; zig-zagging across the country; Phong Nha Cave; Ho Chi Minh Trail to Khe Sanh; Vinh Moc Tunnels; Hue; finishing in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) on little Honda XR 150 trail bikes. 2,300 km across South Vietnam on every road/trail condition one could imagine... and more

An adventure in every sense of the word. Definitely not your average tourist gig in fancy resorts.

Four club members really got out of their comfort zone, and no club members were actually injured in the adventure.

Our Medico Mark did his fair share of assisting our very professional Tour-Boss 'Couny' with other participants who stretched the envelope too far. Our trusty tail-end Charlie 'Baz' kept an eye on the group from the rear and picked up any stragglers. Good Guy and I simply enjoyed the pleasure of riding in this beautiful country.

Couny is a part of a small travel group running tours in North and South Vietnam.

He is able to organise bespoke motorcycle tours in Vietnam for small groups.

The prices are very reasonable. 'Almost' everything is included. There were no surprises.
Summing up Couny and his group: Honest, reliable, knowledgeable, responsible.

Nev,

I'm curious. The International Drivers (Riders) Licence is not recognized by Vietnam and therefore you take a risk from a Travel Insurance point of view. I know there are two trains of thought out there; that is

1. Fck it, I'll just be really careful and hope nothing goes wrong, and

2. Nah, bugger that, its not worth the risk.

I fall into the second category.

I know there are some tour operators who boast that what they do is perfectly legal and that everything is legit.

What was the go for you blokes?

:P
