Based on Bill's description, the Northern ride should look like this (no responsibility accepted for any errors in my translation of the route).

Re: Club 40th Celebrations
Ok for those that just don't want to follow me blindly on Sat 29th.
Hillarys to Gingers on the G.N.Hwy fairly strait forward route.
Hillarys B.H LEAVING 0930 ride along coast via Mullaloo to Ocean Reef Rd. Follow this road till it becomes Gnangarra Rd. Keep going till it gets to West Swan Rd turn left keep going till it meets G.N.Hwy ride up to Gingers roadhouse. Stop for a 15 min break and pickup
Leaving Gingers head back down the G.N.Hwy till get to Cathedral Av, turn left go to Cathedral Av turn right go over rail line at Camargue DR then head along this road till it meets Campersic Rd. This goes up the hill to Brigadoon. Stop here near round-about for another 15 mins.
Leaving this rest point keep heading up Campersic Rd then turn left on Connemara Dr to Lancewood rd, follow this going up and down the roller coaster coming to a T junction and turn Left on O Brien Rd. This becomes Clenten Rd and ends at Bery Rd. Turn Rt. Head off down Berry Rd . Turn Rt on Reserve Rd then head down to Reen Rd. Follow this to Toodyay Rd. Turn left and travel up to Bunning Rd. Follow Bunning Rd to T junction at Cook St. Turn Rt head off to Alice Rd. Turn left onto this, road head down to Keane St. Head off to Mt Helena via left onto Saxon Rd turn Rt onto Riley Rd then follow to roundabout at Stoneville Rd turn left which leads to Mundaring for our next break and pic-up point.
If people are getting somewhat bored and confused with all these roads then don't worry just hang back and follow me to the destination. I should be able to get everyone there

Re: Club 40th Celebrations
How about a "Best Original1996 K75 RT" prize? The Grey Mare is on da road again! Unfortunately had a low speed off in the rain last Friday, so the RH fairing has a few scars.jono wrote: There will be a series awards at the event, without giving too much away they may be awarded for BMW's ridden to the event and which fall under categories such as
Most Bling, Best equipped BMW for cross country touring, Oldest bike, Newest bike, Dirtiest, hardest used BMW we’ve seen, Best restoration by owner
Most original, Highest mileage – viewable on the clock, Most popular customization etc
Not saying that these or all of these will be included but just giving some food for thought

Hi Billbill9117 wrote:Bit quiet on the Northern front. I have asked Northern riders to indicate if they will be utilising the mentioned pick-up points on the way that we have indicated. To date no one has indicated they will be joining the ride at these points.
Does this mean all riders will be starting at Hillarys .
If you will be joining the group at one of the alternative pick-up points please indicate on this thread so we are aware of your joining the ride.
remember have your breakfast and coffees before arriving and we are leaving Hillarys 9.30 sharp
I intend to join this ride at Gingers Roadhouse.
Cheers
Howard.

Re: Club 40th Celebrations
News..".."..............
Looks like at this stage we will have about 53 registered riders doing the Northern route with only a couple of people indicating they will join the group at the auxiliary pick-up points.
A bit of house keeping for participants :
As this is quite a large group of riders in order to maximise safety and make the ride enjoyable a few things must be set in stone
All riders must understand the ride is not a free for all it will be a structured group ride with participants following the lead rider , me , at a safe distance behind with each rider following and keeping an eye out for those riders both ahead and behind at all times. This is in order to allow following riders to follow the direction the group is taking, especially when turning off a road onto another road. So if you notice that the following rider is a way behind, slow down at the turn-off so the rider sees you turning. If the rider is not visible stop at the corner till they catch up. The riders ahead of you will also slow down keeping you visible and also stopping. This will keep the group together. But riders hanging back must endeavour to keep up the pace. If traffic lights hold up and separate the group the lead riders may stop further up the road where safe for the separated group to catch up. The lead group will not divert off the road until the separated group catches up.
As mentioned previously we want to arrive at the venue at 1330 so we are keeping a fairly tight schedule so it's important if we are going to ride in a group to try and abide with the corner point system as I have outlined.
Safety is paramount so ride safe , if you have a sat phone bring it along, take a camel-back with water as we won't have time to stuff around ordering coffees etc, if you have a first aid kit bring it along, take your RAC OR OTHER breakdown emergency contact card with you, have a full tank of fuel and lastly as I said before keep an eye on the rider in front and behind and look after your fellow riders?
Tom Mahady will act as the sweep rider. I will organise other riders who will move up and down the length of the riders keeping some order and handling any emergencies and communicating with myself as ride leader

Re: Club 40th Celebrations
53 riders for the North Ride
29 for the South
Heads up all you eager riders, the northern suburbs are due a speed camera blitz on Saturday 29th
Take care on Beach Rd, Hepurn Ave to Hillarys, Lilburne, Warwick Rd, Ocean Reef rd all around the Hillarys area.
As the ride goes take it easy on Gnangara Rd
Echoing Bill's comments ride safely and to your own comfort levels. It is Motorcycle Safety Week! You are each responsible for your own safety. We all want to enjoy the day, so remember to keep a safe distance between yourself and the next rider and as Bill says no free for all.
I Look forward to seeing everyone at Spadille, it's going to be a great day!

Well done to all the organisers - you excelled.
Some people are like Slinkys, you can't help smiling when you push them downstairs.

Re: Club 40th Celebrations
Well done! Awesome day!
Thank you to the Committee, ride leaders, friendly volunteers and Spadille for access to the venue. I was surprised by the roll & beer, the music was great and the number of people that showed up.
Thank you also to the sponsors of prizes.
Would be nice to have an annual "run" and maybe a picnic or some other get together afterwards for BMW's and friends.
Cheers

What a fantastic turnout, good weather great fellowship and smiles all round.
The Spadille Garage offers that little extra atmosphere and inspires conversations.
A big thank you to everyone involved with the organisation of the event, especially the women assisting with the registration of riders, attendees, merchandise sales, and to all those that attended and made the day a success:)
Special mention of our key sponsors in Alphabetical order;
Auto Classic - Jonas and his team
Motorrad Garage - Petra
Munich Motorcycles - Bruce, Sandy and the team
Tyres for Bikes - Peter
Wicked Gear - Mike
Make sure you mention the club and thank them for their sponsorship, next time you are dealing with them.
