Hello fellow adventurers, as Bill has stated, various riders will be converging on Bindoon Bakehouse at 8 am Thursday, for an 8.30 departure, heading for Moora.

We will fine-tune northern sectors, once weather and road conditions are known.

Sounds like a plan.

After close inspection I did not like the look of my rear tyre I had the bike booked in for the 10k service. So may as well throw some new boots on it. Opted for the Karoo's.

I have contacted Woolen Station today regarding camping on the Thursday night. Unfortunately all their camping sites with facilities (toilets) have been booked. There are some sites available 16 Km from the homestead that require campers to have a chemical toilet.I declined that offer unless Lefty wants to come along with his trailer. They have sites available on the Sun and Monday so it might be an alternative plan to stay there on the way home. Cost is $10 per head.
The lady I spoke to said the roads were in good condition and some sections have been recently graded. The Murchison river hasn't got a lot of water in it so the river isn't running.
So guys looks like an alternative camp site is required for the Thursday night.

I suspect Bully is saying that there is no mobile reception. There is a telephone box.

For details of the settlement see http://julieschroeter.com/free-camps-au ... ement.html

Telstra has the best mobile coverage in rural WA but there is nothing between Mullewa and Gascoyne Junction.

see https://www.telstra.com.au/coverage-net ... r-coverage

Afraid I am unable to join you guys on the Gascoyne trip this year so to those that are going have a safe trip and I hope the weather stays fine for you 8)

NB. Word to the wise for those going by dirt, Avoid the centre track of concrete causeway crossings, Something Jamie can attest too

I will be taking my 4WD and Camper Trailer and am treating my wife to a trip through the Wild Flower country areas of Dalwallinue, Perenjori, Morawa, Mullewa and back thru Three Springs and Carnamah, Leaving Thursday early and returning on Sunday.

Enjoy

I think what bully was referring to is that Murchison Settlement is on or in the radio quiet zone for the MRO which is home to ASKAP ,MWA and the SKA project
Have a great time, by all reports the wildflower,s are sensational up there after the amount of rain they had earlier in the year and yes don't take the path less traveled while traversing concreate flood ways

Murchison Settlement is a very sensitive area and you are not allowed to use your mobile phone there (?think it is only after dark ), I believe that there is some big satellite reception deal, you will struggle to get reception there because of this

Swampy I think your change of plans had something to do with the rain and getting that shiny bike wet

For those going get set for a wet departure Thursday morning with rain likely to continue all the way to Mullewa (Geraldton for the Bitumen set). Beyond Mullewa the rain looks like it will be minimal if any and the roads are all open at this time with the exception of the Kennedy Ranges access road where the river crossing is still running at 60cm

Nev and I will leave the Northern Suburbs around 6:45 via Neaves road and Muchea for Bindoon rendezvous at 8am with the rest of the group, bar Phil who we will pick up at Morawa mid morning.

First nights camp will likely be along the Murchison road somewhere towards the settlement we will decide where depending on our progress. There are plenty of options and camping is free (unless you take the soft option and stop at the caravan park) .

Jono

I am taking the ultra soft option of going up on bitumen and back on gravel leaving Thursday afternoon.

See you in Gascoyne Junction Saturday.

Looks like our group of 5 will have to skip the dirt roads north to Mullewa.

I expect our plan B will be Brand Hwy to Eneabba, then zig zag our way to Mullewa from there.

Please keep an eye out for us at Mullewa... would be good to meet up for the evening camp. JonO - I'll text you tomorrow.
