Sorry mate, I don't think there is enough street cred ( dirt cred ) on the parts after only 1000km.Swampy wrote: Don't worry mate I'm sure Ahab could well be in the market for some odd bits and pieces

And besides, those parts will have scratches on then from gravel rash.
They won't match my parts with good wear and tear.
Isn't it amazing after many years of telling everyone how good the F800gs is, finally people are seeing the light.
Ben would be proud to now see so many people riding them.
Just remember my F800gs is the second one to come into WA. So you guys have many years of riding ahead.
All they have to do now is learn to ride them upright
Speedy recovery Snaga

Most problems can be solved with a suitable application of throttle!

Sorry to hear about your bad luck, main thing is you're in recovery. Get well soon, I know what it's like, Tom

Was this then day 4 ?
Bilby mentioned in an earlier post about the noise in the camping area at the race track, so could fatigue been an issue or was it a combination of track conditions and a lapse of concentration, if you had already traveled from GJ to Mt Augustus, over some of the roads up there, your concentration could not have been at 100%.
At least there were regular regroups and you didn't have the "hares " streaking out of sight, if that had occurred and one of the hares had come off then you wouldn't have known for many kms. Good thing you were with riders the calibre of Shane and Dren, who are well used to traveling in remote areas.
I had meant to come back down through that way on Thursday from Tom Price, but plans changed ( as plans do ), so am not sure of the track conditions

Snaga
Hope you are resting a little bit easier.
Im sure you have gone over and over as to how your accident happened or what caused it.
Have you considered the " ABS " & " Traction Control " option on the bike.
Were these turned on or off ? Im not sure as to how much of these you can turn off on the new F800GSA.
My F800 doesn't have any of these fancy fixtures. Which Im grateful for. As I consider these to be a danger on certain surfaces.
These options don't let you do what you need to do sometimes to get yourself out of a situation.
At least when I crash I can blame it directly onto " ME " as I have total control of what the bike is doing or not doing.
And it's not the bike causing the situation.
Don't go telling to many jokes, Or sneezing, or Coughing, or farting as these small comforts of life cause the most pain with broken ribs.
