Goldfields anniversary tour
Re: Goldfields anniversary tour
Whatever it takes Rick... you're needed to Chair the service station navigation meetings.
And it looks like there'll be a breakaway group of 2 or 3 riders on Sunday. Will be heading up to the Gunbarrel Hwy to do a reccy for Desert Raid 2017.

Haha Shane, are you printing out an itinerary again, just so I know if I need to pack toilet paper or not?
Re: Goldfields anniversary tour
You silly boy... think army, one sheet for the whole tour.
Anyway I'm retired now, so no handout sheets. Can't afford it.

Re: Goldfields anniversary tour
I would like to think I can be a starter with the off road brigade. I get back from work in the Philippines on 1 May and will be looking for some familiar country side with fresh air.
Digger, I am looking forward to having a diary like yours.

Everybody should read Steve Job's final message. It puts things into perspective.paulknight wrote: Digger, I am looking forward to having a diary like yours.

Although he died in 2011, this message was only published in Nov 2015. Somewhere, somehow, i discovered that early retirement was the key long before that.

Re: Goldfields anniversary tour
Unfortunately I am out due to work commitments.
Weather permitting it will be a great ride.
Good luck and enjoy to all those who take part.

Bump.
Departing Thurs next week.
The weather forecast is looking mostly fine, which is pretty good for this time of the year.

Post up if you're still coming. Confirmation of starters would be handy... if only to know who to expect at Gingers.

Re: Goldfields anniversary tour
I will be riding the K100LT and Leony and Isabella will probably drive shotgun in the van, to carry the tent, supplies etc
Suggest we follow the itinerary of the 2008 trip as detailed in Shane's post of early April
Day 1 will consist of lunch in Wubin to plan the final assault on Paynes Find.
Day 2 will consist of stopoff at Youandme gold mine and the fabled London Bridge in Sandstone. Then on to Agnew. The chance of a skimpy in attendance, is pretty high
Day 3 will consist of visits to Gwalia (Leonora) and Kookynie. We can sit around the S.O.G. mine manager's office table and plan the mining activities in the area for the next twelve months
Day 4 will consist of visits to Siberia, Lake Ballard and Ora Banda (is there any firewood in the forest between Daveyhurst and Coolgardie?)
Day 5 Victoria Rock and Lake Johnstone with an overnight stop at the fabulous breakaways
It seems that Bozo rode this route anticlockwise, and therefore his endeavour does not count as an official Club ride
How could you resist a kaleidoscope of activities such as this?
any questions call me on 0406112916 John

Wish I had a diary to put it in.

Re: Goldfields anniversary tour
See you at Gingers on Thursday but what time?
Re: Goldfields anniversary tour
Wightmans post on page 2 suggests 8.30am. Sounds like a good time to me.
I reckon we work on 8.30 unless we hear otherwise.
