Runnin' In The New GSA...Overnighter

Post by Digger »

G'Day Slackers,

I take delivery of my new R1200GSA on 1st July. My other one was written off () earlier this year after an electrical fire caused by a short circuit. Anyway, that aside, i have to run in the new one quickly to get it serviced before i depart later in July for the BMW Enduro starting in Streaky Bay. I am planning on leaving on Thursday 7th July and doing an overnighter to Bullfinch-Evanston Road and returning the following day. This will be a mix of good unsealed and sealed backroads. This would suit all sizes of GS bikes so if you want to come along you are more than welcome.

Bush camp on Thursday night. Return around 5pm on Friday (just in time for the weekend).

Further details to follow.

:P

No...why put out a perfectly good fire on a bike that is insured.

In.

So is RM I think. And Dren says he's a starter too.

Hope it doesn't rain while we're out there. That road is a stinker after a decent downpour.

Locked in.

Where/when will we depart from, Dome Mundaring 09:00?

Looks like Ahab will also attend.

I was thinking Dome Mundaring at 8.00AM....just to make sure we are clear of farmland on Evanston Road.
We will be going via York....Ahab can meet us along the way at a time TBA.

Welcome back (to Oz)....
I'm assuming you've returned to Australia after your holiday overseas. It'll be good to catch up one day and listen to the tales.

08:00 is fine with me. Ahab says he won't be joining us after all.

Rumour has it that it's overrated, work that is.

I'm in Africa then. Bugger! So many holidays so little time...this one sounded like a bit of fun. I'll fire up my spot tracker while I'm away. Unfortunately the closest I'll come to my beloved GSA is my t shirt with BMW written on it. Anyway the doors closed and we will be waking up in Johannesburg. Then after a trip round Soweto it's off to Kenya! Cya Kots & Alex
