I am hoping to make it to the Ulysses AGM in Albany in March, and then ride up the west coast; perhaps back to New South via the Tanami.
I am looking for ride buddies and local info on the West Coast and the Tanami.
My weapon of choice is an '05 R1200GS, with provision to carry a little extra fuel...
Any info and/or contact will be appreciated!
Thx in anticipation.
Keep smiling

Re: Ride buddies & WA tourist info
G'day Paul, I'm a fellow Ulysses member so welcome in advance to W.A, 3 of us did the Tanami last year, 2 on GSA's and 1 GS,
It's a long hard ride, the road is rough with patches of sand, rock etc, fuel is expencive and may be hard to get now Rabit Flat road house is closing down, prepair well if your going alone, March/ April may still be hot, oh and if you come across a rear wheel hugger/ mud guard thingy, It's mine.
The West Coast, to Darwin then down would be a better option, or Even the Great Central Rd to Alice if you want dirt and Culture!!.
In regards to the AGM, If you havn't already booked accomodation, good luck, I think there is none left.I'm 2 hours from Albany so if you get stuck you can stay with us, I'm going to ride down and check it out from home.
If you want any more info regarding the West or the Tanami, P.M me with you e mail and I'll send some pics and info.
Cheers Richard

Thx Richard for the info and the offer of accomm; sadly I haven't booked yet....? Amazing how time slips away.
I wasn't planning to do anything too crazy on my own. it will probably be El Questro and Katherine, Mt Isa if can't get any one else to ride with.

I believe that camping is still available at the site (bloody hope so) I'm waiting to see my fly dates to work out if I can make it.
Rumours going around from AGM committee is estimated 6000 attending, that'll be bigger than Coffs and that was a fantastic week.

Thx Bully1. It should be good, although I am not looking forward to the Nullabor - so much straight and flat black top!
Hope to see you there. I'll be the old fart in the black Ulysses gear!

Hi Paul,
Hope all goes well for you. Sounds like a great trip.....
I'm going the opposite way. I'll be going from Sydney north to Cairns, across to Darwin and then back down the WA coast over June & July.
Have a great ride.
