The wisdom of the early morning crowd at the Dome this morning crystalised into a challenge to ride as many National, State, Routes and Tourist Drives on the day of the year matching their allocated number.
Tourist Drives start at number 200 so no need to bother with them until the second half of 2017.
There are 22 roads that are numbered between 1 and 31 so it should be possible to ride 22 numbered roads on the day of the year by only having to venture as far as Busselton.
Today the Sunday ride group commenced on Highway 1 (Great Eastern Highway). Tomorrow all we need to do is the Mitchell or Kwinana Freeway.
The first real challenge is on Saturday the 10th to get on the Bunbury - Augusta Route 10.

Day 3 ... Road 3
Route 3 is Roe Highway - Reid Highway.
Picture is taken at what I think is the first Dog Bone Interchange in WA. There are now lots including on Tonkin Highway.

Re: WA Numerical Roads Challenge
Got back into the Numerical Roads Challenge.
Decided to amend the rules to allow multiple roads to be ridden on one day provided that all roads were ridden sequentially and that one of the road numbers corresponded to the day of the excursion.
Today, the 7th day of the year I rode roads 5,6,7,8,9,10, 12,13 and 14 in a 600 km trip down south.
It was a stunning riding day down south as you can see from the image of Busselton Jetty complete with cruise ship.
The first stop was the Causeway...Route 5, then retraced my path down Canning Highway...Route 6
Note: Photobucket is very slow so I will finish this post later

Great shot Bozo - unusual to catch a cruise ship in it - no bikini clad girls in the foreground or did you edit them out? And what camera do you use - or your phone?

Just a quick shot with an IPhone 5.
It was a bit cold and a bit early for the beach to be full.
The cruise ship was the reason I took the photo with its tender at the jetty and a train load of cruise passengers travelling along the jetty.
