The BMWMCCWA is holding a fundraising event to raise funds for the Prostate cancer foundation.
We will be organising a Go Kart race meeting at Kart World Belmont on Wed 12th July at 6.30pm. Kart World is located at 8 Cowcher Place Belmont.
We have run these events in previous years and everyone has thoroughly enjoyed themselves with the fun and competition of racing the karts, prizes, camaraderie and the social interaction.
The plan is : Kart world sells blocks of 20 laps at a fixed price per head. We can divide the block into 5 laps per race with a maximum of 10 participants at a time. If numbers wanting to participate requires that 25 laps is insufficient to accomodate a greater number of participants then we will have to purchase another block of 25 laps in order for everyone to have some participation.
For all this to happen we will need club members to register via our private members site and put their names down and pay via a Paypal the required entry fee
Kart world needs to know numbers participating so they can plan and organise the event so everyone gets to race. When everyone has had a go the winners of each race will race against each other until a overall champion is declared. A suitable prize will be offered.
Helmets, a sausage sizzle and drinks will be part of the entry fee. Members can bring their own helmet.
The club has determined that a entry cost of $50 per member and a fee of $40 for guests, partners and for people over 65. This allows the club to pay Kart World and provide for the fundraiser.
As the events main purpose along with members having fun and the camaraderie,is to try and support BMW AUST's push to support this important cause of raising funds for prostrate cancer research, some of the cost of the tickets contributes to this cause.
Jono will be opening the registration for the event shortly.
Make sure to register on the private forum or contact Pres Jono regarding payments.
Please get your registrations in early. Indicate your interest on this thread.

Further information from Kart world: Speaking with the management Kart world will not allow us to have shorter races and we will be required to have participants do 20 laps of their circuit rather than the 5 laps we previously envisaged, which management suggests will take 15minutes for the 20 laps. The management requires the club to let them know by Monday 3rd July to confirm a booking or we will miss out. We will require a maximum of 10 participants in each race, so the night depends on the numbers committed to putting their names down for the event.
If members are at all interested in making a booking please let us know so we can lock in the event. Jono will be having available a registration on the private members web site for those willing to commit to attend.
Take note if we don't get 25 registrants by Monday it won't happen :

Re: Kart world BMWMCCWA FUNDRAISER FOR PROSTATE CANCER RESEA
Announcement
Unfortunately due to not getting the required 25 registrations as required by Kart World Administration by today, they can't hold bookings for our club to hold the event.
So event is cancelled. Thanks for those members that did register.
The committee is still keen to hold a fund raising for Prostrate Cancer Research event that members can enjoy and want to participate in. Any ideas or suggestions that members put forward will be considered.
