I too are keen to undertake the course, the overview offered at the dealership was enough to convince me of the value of this training which is specifically for motor cyclists.

We held a session a few years back, where a paramedic came along to a tuning day and gave a good overview of first aid for motorcyclists, which was well attended.

Bowe keeping everyone in the loop, the committee is considering a number of options regarding running this.I have contacted Jannine who spoke at the A/C talk. She mentioned that they will limit the participants to 12 per session as there is a lot of one on one stuff. She also mentioned that she is reasonably available for most Saturdays for the full day course. She maybe able to discount the $160 per head if we provide the venue which needs seating, a area for demo tables, overhead projector and other IT stuff and a area which can handle spurting blood which tends to make a mess. So if any members can organise some venue that fits in with her requirements let us know. Otherwise she will provide a venue.
The committee have started communicating with each other on this and will collectively get together to talk over a plan. In the meantime if those interested please indicate your interest so we can lock in numbers that wish to participate given that it means a full day and some financial outlay.

IMPORTANT REQUEST]

MEMBERS ARE ADVISED THAT THE CLUB COMMITTEE REQUIRES NAMES OF THOSE THOSE INTERESTED ON DOING THE FULL DAY COURSE WHICH WILL BE HELD ON A SATURDAY. We have 3 Saturday dates to choose from 7th April, 5th May,12th May and each session can take up to 12 participants at a time. On completing the course members will be certified with accreditation that the member is a recognised M/C first aid trained person.
Going on chatter on this thread and on Sunday at Cats to date there has been indicated interest from 8 members so far.The committee has agreed to subsidise a session of 12 members up to a contribution of $450 ( $35 /member x12) towards the $160/ head participant fee. So participants will be required to pay the balance.
Obviously at this stage it appears we will only have enough participants to fill 1 course so those that have indicated an interest please let us know you are a definite and if you are flexible with the dates or have a preferred date so we can get this important club service underway. The minimum number per session is 6 participants.
If the club gets more members interested and needs to run a second session we will consider this also.
Please act quickly so we can get this underway.

A reminder for those wishing to attend the first aid course on the 5th of May.
As of today 7 people have now registered to do the course. As the max numbers of participants is limited to 12 to endeavour the trainers a one on one instruction for maximum training, those that still want to do the training should put their registration in to secure a place on this course.
If the club ends up over prescribed for this course the committee will decide if a further course is a possibility.

Members, we have 1 more place to fill in the certified first aid course subsidised by your club. Each course will take 12 participants capped so that the presenters can effectively instruct individuals on the intricacies of applying their instruction to maximise the application of effective first aid by participants when needed.
The committee has decided to subsidise $35 of the $160 fee/ participant so that the club has a number of members skilled in providing first aid help in the situation of a life threatening traumatic M/C accident.
This will benefit all members that take part in club M/C activities.
We have 1 place left in this course so if you feel that you can also become skilled in M/C first aid please register your interest to fill the 5th of May course so we can lock in the course with the trainers who must be given a lead up time to run the course on this date.
If we get additional sufficient interest from members we will organise an additional course conditional that participant numbers is in excess of the minimal 6 required to run the course.
Please register to fill the last spot by this W/E so we can finalise lwith the trainers and get the course underway....
