I heard about this a couple of months ago and rang the dealer....they told me if my bike was affected, i would be contacted by letter from BMW. Not sure if they were fobbing me off. I havent recieved anything thru the mail yet. My 1200GSA was manufactured in Apr 07.

Re: R1200GS Brake Line Issue 2006-2009
Nev here. My 2008 R1200 GSA was also affected. Noticed brake fluid leaking at a service station in Longreach Queensland a couple of weeks ago. The short brake pipe in the ABS distribution system fractured. Cost me a couple of days at CentreTune Yamaha until Morgan and W could 'overnight' air freight the parts from Brisbane. Sadly, after I arrived home, I happened across the article in the June Club Bulletin. The outcome could have been very different. Had I been trying to emergency stop from a kangaroo / road train / grey nomad, it would really have been different. Law suits would have ensued, believe me... I have had no contact from BMW either. As it is now, CentreTune Yamaha only fitted the broken brake pipe and not the rest of the kit (now that I know about the recall, I understand the importance of the rest of the kit). So somehow I will have to organise Morgan and W in Brisbane to fit the rest of the kit in October when I go back to ride the other half of my trip around Oz. Please do apply pressure to BMW to remedy the brake recall. Don't leave it 'til it's too late.Cookie wrote:Hello to all,

Re: R1200GS Brake Line Issue 2006-2009
Greetings Folks,
For recalls generally, it might be a good idea to post this link prominently on the Club website.
It is the Australian Federal Government's Recalls website.
This is the BMW motorcycle page. It lists all BMW motorcycle recalls.
http://www.recalls.gov.au/content/index ... mId/952852
Although I am informed that my 2008 BMW R1200 GSA is up for 2 recall campaigns: Brake lines; and fuel pump.
So keep an eye out.
See you 'biked-up' folks on Sunday
Cheers
