Thursday ride on a Thursday??

Post by Swampy »

Hi All, Just for a change I thought we would have a Thursday ride on a Thursday, That date being 23/09/2021

Meet at Mojo's from 0830 - on for a coffee and chat before heading out on a ride.

I am getting withdrawals from Toodyay and will probably head out there......Just cos I can!!

However the rest of you can make up your own minds whether to join me or head off somewhere else, after all you are not under contract!!

I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

Well, Another outstanding attendance for the Thursday Ride at Mojo's this morning. 8)

Approx. 15 turned up with the hills covered in a damp cool fog but a bevy of hot drinks soon put everyone right!

Brian/5 headed home to pack his bike for a trip to Geraldton tomorrow with Nurzo and Bozo both heading home!

There was a division of the ranks with the Two Chris's sounding like an ad for Isuzu declaring "They were going their own way"!!

Peter led a group to do a reverse trip out and around Dowerin while I had the "Fantastic Four" deciding to accompany me to Toodyay where I had not been for a couple of weeks.

With Peter leading the push we as a group headed out to The Lakes, West Talbot Road to York where we had a brief break for those who had imbibed too many coffees at Mojo's!!

The two groups split from there with my group heading off into Northam before taking the lovely back scenic drive onto Toodyay!

In my group were Sophie, Scruff, Bill C. and Eddy. We parked up at the Cola Cafe and found the "Two Chris's" already there after going their own way in deep in meaningful conversation enjoying their lunch!!

Scruff and Bill provided our table with side dishes of lovely hot fresh chips to go with our orders!! Thanks Guys, You are both welcome to join us again providing you keep up the service!!

A pleasant break was had in good company again before we departed for home with the main bunch traveling back via Toodyay Rd. while I took the route to Clackline and home via Mundaring Weir Road.

Once again nature turned on a display for us with the countryside looking magnificent on a beautiful sunny day with great company as a bonus!!

Thanks for the company guys and girl!!

To add to Swamps excellent report above the group split at York with Nick and Anthony joining me for a Wheatbelt experience run to Dowerin. So we headed north out off York on the Northam road, turning right at Quellington to head to Meckering. It was immediately noted that the canola yellow flowers were dying and some paddocks starting to show a little dryness. Wheat and Lupins looking very healthy. Fantastic riding conditions with little wind and just under 20 degrees.
A quick dog leg at Meckering put us onto the Dowerin Rd. We got to the Dowerin Bakery, Newsagent, Cafe just before midday to settle down to pies and sandwiches. With Nick and Anthony from IT backgrounds the conversation re the different IT companies was new to me. We sat outside the cafe in low twenties degrees, very pleasant.
The return trip was through Goomalling onto Toodyay, Salt Valley Rd and onto our homes.
Thanks Nick and Anthony for sharing TEC duties and joining me on a memorable Spring weather Wheatbelt ride.
