Motorbike Transport

Post by Evelyn »

Hi everyone,
Now I know Richards' posted up here before on m/c transport with Bike Nut, but, I just want to know if anyone managed to get a better deal than the usual $1000 cost. I am trying to get a bike, including 2 spare tyres and spare gearbox from Canberra to Perth. So far the quotes have come in excess of$1200, with the spares having to be transported seperatly and at a further cost. Can anyone help me. Richards' in the desert dancin with his indigeonous mates while I'm his lacky organising his early christmas present.

I had a bike transported in February this year from Gosford NSW to Carriers depot Perth (Door to Depot) and cheapest quotation I received was $1,122.00. I also had to conduct my own loading of the bike into my ute in Perth as they would not assist with forklift or other lifting device, although I was aware of this prior to confirming the booking with them.

Thanks. So far my best quote is from BikeNut, who discounted down to $985.00 from ACT to Bently WA. However, they wont take the spare tyres and gearbox/engine due to insurance reasons. How he gets it on his ute is for him to worry about. I am told the old URAL still starts okay - eventually!
If it comes to the crunch he can always ride it home, taking the back roads!
