No Ride Thursday 9th Dec.

Post by Swampy »

The general consensus at Catalano's last Sunday morning was that because of the higher heat forecast for this week that there would be no ride organised for this Thursday!!

The snowflakes have melted folks!!

Oh look what happens when I’m away for a couple of weeks  34 degrees is forecast, not high enough to put me off for my first ride in 3 weeks, so leaving Gloria Jeans Ascot at 7:45 to mosey up to Mojos Mundaring for a 9 ish departure. DDD. Dare you to join me.

Hi All, It now appears I imagined a conversation at Cat's last Sunday when it was mentioned to me that it would be too hot for a ride this Thursday!!

Silly me for listening to that voice but I guess my age is catching up with me at long last!!

I will in future remember to keep taking my medication and refrain from listening to imaginary voices pertaining to advice about weather conditions and take my own counsel as it appears to be my only reliable source!!

Enjoy your ride guys and my apologies for mentioning snowflakes if it offends anyone!!

Four riders departed Ascot for a run up to Mundaring. The route up was a variation of the usual ratrun. Despite the forecast of a hot day there was still only enough room for everyone to fit around our reserved table at Mojo’s.

After Digger called time out the assembly broke up into three groups. Some going directly home, two for a northern run to Toodyay with the remaining five heading south for Jarrahdale.

The route south was via Mundaring Weir Road with the Paulls Valley & Piesse Brook loops added for a bit of variety. Then via various turns to Lawnbrook, down and across to Forrest Rd, Pickering Brook. The was a very large variety of motorcycles at the Bean 2 Brook Café corner Pickering Brook & Canning Roads. Nick at this stage had had enough and turned back for home or was it to check out the motorcycles.

Then it was down Canning Mill via Brockway to Chevin and on to the Brookton Hwy. Then past Araluen, Canning Dam, down Albany Hwy to Bedfordale. We bypassed Byford to the south by going down Thomas then along Hopkins. Carrying on south through Mundijong and Serpentine. A loop around some of the newer housing south of Serpentine before getting back on track down Hall Rd to loop up Fisher to the SWHwy. The final leg was to loop up Kingsbury Dr to the Jarrahdale General Store for lunch.

Thanks all for your enjoyable company & ride and to Peter as TEC

Brian/5, thanks for the interesting run up the hill and the chance to test another phobia. Diggers abrupt termination of the wellness meeting may mean he is vulnerable to cleithrophobia, or the fear of being trapped by snowflakes. Related to chionophobia, fear of snowflakes, it is very rare in WA.

I was just reading the vibe in the room. Some of you blokes were looking like you were just about ready for a Nanna Nap.

Digger, your timely action got everyone moving and saved Peter and Brian from an extended period of cajoling to produce the same outcome

Ah I really missed all the essential and well meaning banter  Thanks Brian for an interesting ride with some new roads that I may never travel on again and some I definitely will travel on again  I actually had a very slack day, no leading, thanks Brian and no TEC, thanks Digger. Sorry I mentioned the E bike to Digger as it brought up painful memories of a large extraction from the Bly bank account Oooopppps  Swampy enjoy your ride on BBB today
