Water Wheeling to Waroona

Post by Bozo »

A split turn out at Catalano's and Dome today. Fortunately Nurzo Steve's split shoulder has been successfully patched. The big news was Fiery Ross's 1250 Triple Black arriving.

Nine riders and a pillion headed out into the cooler weather for a run to Waroona via Churchman Brook Dam, Jarrahdale and Dwellingup. Rod Rocket Peter, AAA Anthony, His Royal Griceness, Survey Ross, Kim and Andrea, Ted, Hermann, Peter Bee and Bozo took the Soldiers Road, Churchman Brook Road and Waterwheel Road to link from Brookton Highway to Albany Highway. Peter Bee did a great job of leading the group over this route that had been suggested by Survey Ross as an alternative to the run via Canning Dam. An excellent suggestion.

Despite rumours to the contrary, Kingsbury Drive was open but the Serpentine Dam Cafe seems to be closed for the long term. A pleasant run up Del Park Road was followed by Nanga Road and Nanga Brook Road before a stop at the Pinjarra Bakery at Waroona. COVID-19 was a closely contacted subject as well as remembering Gunner and Rob.

The run home was via Coolup, Burnside Road, Corio Road and Lightbody Road. Excellent day to be out with a great group. Another positive was that Hermann was able to join us along with Kim and Andrea. Thanks to Peter Bee for Water Wheeling the group at short notice over new (to me) roads around Churchman Brook Reservoir. Also thanks for his role as tail end Charlie.

Thanks Bozo for leading another excellent ride in perfect motorcycle riding conditions. Congratulations to Fiery Ross with his Triple Black 2022 RT. Great photo Bozo. So many different bikes on the road and at the cafes.
