Riding with the Valkyries to York Valhalla

Post by Bozo »

A solid turn out at Catalano's this morning despite some of the Secret Seven meeting elsewhere. Great to see Jamie back to WA from the sodden state of New South Wales for a few weeks and to have Andrew return safely from his stellar sojourn to the eastern states on his R90S.

Ted, Guy, Water Mark, Rob, Andrew + Ellie, Wightman and Bozo travelled through the Bickley Valley and past Mundaring Weir to join a stream of motorcycles heading to York. At Mundaring, Ted noticed that he was losing his front tyre on corners. The tyre was only half inflated and with some Guy guidance the under inflation was resolved. We deviated onto a smokey Yarra Road past a controlled burn for a run along Talbot West Road. Talbot Road and Cut Hill Road got us into a jam packed York - a Valhalla for Harley Davidson riders. The show and shine included the sparkling "Copper Goblin" R80 BMW.

A pie beckoned at Bakers Hill for Water Mark, Ted, Wightman and Bozo. Multi Media Mark joined us at Bakers Hill after his exploration of local Roads. A run home was slightly marred by heavy rain in Perth.

Excellent day out to one of the closest motorcycle events in WA to Sturgis. Thanks to Guy for pneumatic support and to Wightman for running as tail end Charlie.

A truly great ride, Bozo and by scooting up the West Talbot, we were able to preclude the tangling up with the unbridled milieu of motley Perth riders, There was enough patch to cover the MCG and enough lace to reupholster the Titanic. Just about every single ragtag rider west of Merredin was there. We even bumped into Arie de Klerk walking his dog down the main drag. The quiet squirt down through the sunny fields of Chidlow, was indeed the prelude to an almighty downpour on Roe Highway, snookering my feeble attempt to bypass the tempest, by sneaking down Tonkin Highway.

Nice to catch up at the bakery and a great run home. Snuck through the back of Mundaring and Helena Valley i must have got lucky with just a light rain event until I crept into the underground parking in west perth and then down it came.
