With the weather so perfect in the morning it was hard to see it would rain later as forecast. A good turnout at Cats and Dome but only John W, Rayner, Nannup Nick, Multi media Mark and Peter Bee were brave enough to go on a ride. I suggested to go into them there hills ending at Bakers Hill Pie Shop which as usual everybody agreed as a plan, with a return by 2pm when storms were forecast. John W was on his new old blue 1984 K100 doing a shakedown run after completing some minor work after rescuing it from the wreckers.
So past the airport and winding our way through John Forrest NP and through Parkerville and onto Roland Rd. Reen Rd was the turn off Toodyay Rd and onto Clenton and O’Brien. A surprise at the notorious double bend near the Peter Brock Memorial was a Suzuki Hayabusa crashed down a ditch and nobody around. We actually doubled back to see if an injured rider was somewhere in the undergrowth but found no sign of anyone. We motored on to Brigadoon and the GNH where MMMark and Nick left with three of us to continue to Chittering Valley and Julimar.
As we stopped on the outskirts of Toodyay we had the pleasure to wave to Swampy and Wes who had done their compulsory Toodyay run. The three of us took the Toodyay to Clackline Rd ending up at Bakers Hill Pie Shop.
A pleasant break with the sun still shining but clouds starting to build.
John W had the longest route to home in Rockingham so he took off to beat the rain. Rayner and I got to Chidlow before the rain started.
So weather more or less as forecast and still a great ride with good company, thanks to all with a special thanks to Nick and Rayner running as TEC.

Re: Beating the Rain
I was quite fortunate leaving Toodyay for home when I did after a pleasant brekkie at Dome and great ride through Mundaring and the back blocks with Wes!!
I pulled into my Carport and less then 10 minutes later the rain came down sparing me a couple of hours cleaning the bike!!

I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."
