Fired up for Dwellingup

Post by Bozo »

A strong turn out at Catalanos with Koos and partner visiting from the eastern states. DFS, Lauren and Alex were amongst the crowd.

Eight riders and a pillion headed to Churchman's Brook, Byford, Serpentine Dam, Refinery Road/North Spur Road and Dwellingup. Rod Rocket Peter, GS Mark, Mike and Anna, Rainer, Goldie, Herman, Peter Bee and Bozo took advantage of the shaded roads to travel to the Blue Wren in a packed Dwellingup. The 46 kilometre, 6 inch trail marathon was underway that started at Dandalup and finished at Dwellingup as well as the Dwellingup Markets.

Goldie and Rainer regaled us with stories of club rides from 30 years ago and the Dwellingup bushfires from 60 years ago. Dodgy stories about truck, motorcycle and car driving licences were told including the "necessary prerequisites" to gaining a licence.

Most of the group took the Nanga option to return home via Waroona. A wayward Hayabusa reminded us of the hazards of high speed.

A great days run and furnace temperatures were only experienced on the way back through the Perth suburbs.

Thanks to Peter Bee and Herman for running as tail end Charlie. Best wishes to Mike and Anna on the next phase of their employment adventure.
