Ride saved from being Screwed

Post by Bozo »

A great turnout at both C1 and D1 this morning. 12 riders participated in the DFS farewell tour - DFS, R90S Mark, Brian/5, Gerry, Goldie, Dave S, Cameron, Wightman, Bolgart Paul, Nannup Nick, Peter Bee and Bozo went on a circuitous ride to the Toodyay Bakery.

We were still in the Sir John Forrest Park when Goldie noticed he was losing air in his rear tyre. The group pulled up and watched Goldie do his skillful work to ream, glue and plug the tyre.

The ride continued with a diversion to Prosperity Drive to change our luck before a run on Lilydale, Liberton, Mayo, Bailup, Burma and Coates Roads. We took a free flowing run along the Clackline-Toodyay Road before meeting up with Noel at the Toodyay Bakery. The run home was on a new road that has a short stretch of gravel - Dumbarton Road - that got us to Irishtown. A climb up Mount Ommaney to see the patches of Canola mixed with green and a view over Northam.

The ride finished at Woorooloo. Thanks to Peter Bee for running as tail end Charlie and for the patience of the group.

Thanks Bozo for leading us with your ankle giving you some grief. Hope it feels better soon. A very relaxing ride, good weather, good company and a couple of new roads with some minor tyre issues, who could wish for more.
