Stubby and Peter Bee getting ready for the Sunday ride.

Seven stoic souls were happy to sustain scattered showers to seek the elusive patch of blue sky to the north east. Navigator Nick, Stubby, M D Mike, Rob, R90S Mark, Peter Bee and Bozo headed for Bakers Hill via Kalamunda. The steep approaches to intersections on Hinkler Road and Croxton Road were challenging with the Piesse Brook wet roads before a one sentence speech at Mundaring Weir on No 1 Pump Station. We cut through the Mundaring Industrial Area on Cockatoo Drive before a run on Talbot West Road. The blue sky materialised and the fresh green paddocks, almost dry roads and sun were greatly appreciated.
We visited "Muresk" for a little light relief. "Muresk" was named after the birthplace of the patriarch of the Dempster family of Esk in Scotland. "Muresk", established as an agricultural training college in 1926, was purchased from the Dempster family in 1925. In the photo, the family show the 1920's technology for wool washing (now motorcycle riders follow Bozo, like sheep, into heavy showers of rain to get washed).

Great timing in arriving at Bakers Hill Bakery (which was running on one cylinder with one of the twin pie warmers out of action). We were invaded by a border collie seeking to hide as it was not keen to accompany its owner to go out in the heavy rain.
A simple run home via Wundowie and Chidlows before the ride ended at Mount Helena. Thanks to Peter Bee for brightening up our day and running as tail end Charlie and for a group happy to get a bit wet and explore new roads.
