A Heritage Ride was scheduled for the Sunday following the 50th Anniversary leaving from Diverso. A smaller group than normal but great to have the Macfarkles, Dumbleyung Dave, Intrepid Ken and Toni and Murray join us.
12 riders, a pillion and a Pudding commenced the Heritage Ride to early BMWMCCWA event locations at Patterson Road, Pickering Brook and the Zig Zag. Dean+ Mandy, Murray P, Navigator Nick, Lefty, Guy, Nev, Survey Ross, David S, His Royal Griceness, Steve N, Peter Bee and Bozo then headed to the Royal Flying Doctor Service at Jandakot Airport where we were joined by Goldie.
A brief stop at Shellley Foreshore was slightly extended by a battery issue. Peter Bee came to the rescue with a powerpack.
We met up with Bear and Dawn at the back of 11 Harborne Street in Wembley where Bear told us of how the meetings ended sometimes with sirens and flashing lights. This was the home of Chris Hill and where the first meetings of the club were held.
The group then headed to 19 Alvan Street where the owners were happy for Bear and Joane Gilbert (residents from 1976 to 1978) to take a picture of the Pudding in the pantry. This house is where the legend of the Pudding began.
On to 69 Central Avenue and earlier location for club members and where the "chocolate party was held. The owners were holding a party but invited us to take photographs on the property. The owner produced a Lucas motorcycle battery that he had dug up in the garden.
I had to head home with a failing battery that needed the help of Peter Bee's powerpack.
Thanks to Lefty for chaperoning the Pudding, Goldie for joining us at Jandakot and Bear and Dawn for adding to the heritage story. Particular thanks to Peter Bee for his electrical services and tail end Charlie duties.
An interesting day scooting around the Metro area.
