Grey Day brightened by Bright Blue Smurfs

Post by Bozo »

The day started with the armchair experts in dispute over an adjacent vehicle being a HQ Holden Monaro or something else. It turned out to be a Chevrolet SS Commander from South Africa which was a rebadged Holden Monaro with some tweaks to the bonnet and grill.

The EOI project initiated a lot of airhead information exchange specific to that model and was followed by several huge dogs interacting with the group.

Five riders trusted a dodgy forecast of a few minutes mizzle and took a promised blue sky ride to Bakers Hill. Nev, Tom, R90S Mark, Peter Bee and Bozo experienced weather conditions that prompted many route changes but finally at Mundaring Weir, after threats of oil on the road, the sun peeked through.

The roads were still wet and impacted by strong winds as we coursed through Reserve Road and Berry Road to transit to Fernie Road. Finally dry roads, lush green paddocks, little traffic for some enjoyable riding. The sighting of five kangaroos near Hoddy Well Road may have attenuated the energetic riding.

A run along the Toodyay Clackline Road had us at a packed Bakers Hill Bakery overflowing with Joondalup Ulysses members. Two very blue faced smurfs stopped the conversation as they sought a snack before heading to a screening of a Smurf film. Speed cameras and strong winds added another dimension to the day.

A simple run home via Wundowie and Chidlow to Mount Helena where the ride ended. Thanks to Peter Bee for running as tail end Charlie and coping with the many route changes.

I decided to toughen up a little and test my riding gear for COLD and WET conditions. I was prepared.
Come what may, I was joining Bozo and crew...

So... The day began with a beautiful sunrise shining on Blue 8)

After a brief shower leaving Cats, it all fizzled out. No wet weather gear testing is happening today. And so it was. The only thing I hadn't planned for was warm weather. And that is what we got.

A fabulous route wending through our beautiful green countryside.

Much banter at the smurfalicious Bakers Hill bakery. Pie was very good. And so it should be for $8.40

More sunshine followed me back to the 'burbs.

Time to forget BoM weather predictions and just enjoy riding my motorcycle.

Thanks Bozo for leading a very enjoyable ride. 8)
