Try Level 5 section G, thats the North Wing over the Wellington St Crossover. They were there on Wednesday. Or just ask at the front desk they are pretty good at giving directions.

Can anyone be a little more specific where the boys are in RPH. It's a fairly big place.

Ben was on the 5th floor North Wing...that was on Thursday. Ring the hospital (or Ben on his mobile if you have it)...they will let you know. There is also a thread on AdvRider.....click on the link or search under "OzBen" (OzBen has an off)

Ben and Dean are in ward 5G as of Sat morning . This is on the north side of Wellington st. The north of this building is a Multistory car park, google maps will help.
Perhaps you may get thru on 9224 2244 to confirm that they are still there.

After eight and a half glorious weeks on and off in hospital I'm being released today!!!

Thanks to everyone who has supported me and my family. I'd particularly like to thank, in no particular order, Anthony, Robin, Chris and Pete/Loyla/Jesse who are all eleveted to legend status for their support (yes you can now tease them mercilessly for being legends).

Ben is back in Perth this Friday for an X Ray to see how he's repairing so hope all is going well. Ben will no doubt give an update

Looking forward to getting back on the bike and going for a ride as soon as it's all repaired. You can all ride really fast in front of me, I'll ride tail end Charlie, I insist.

Cheers
Dean

3 months in the back brace (done 2 so another month to go) - can't wait to get rid of the damn thing!
Then 3 more months before doing manual work or heavy lifting.
Then 6 more months before doing activities that risk impact such as contact sports or motorcycle riding (crashing or falling).
That interferes somewhat with what I had planned but I'll be thankful if it works out as predicted - it may not...
Bummer!

Here's the tip - don't ever volunteer to break your back.
Yes, it's a unique and novel experience and rates highly on the 'street cred' status list, but it's not all that it's made out to be.
It's a lot more pleasant watching the cricket with a cold beer...

From what I gather Dean's making huge leaps forward (at last!) so lets hope for a faultless recovery from here - you deserve a break Dean, it hasn't been easy so far...
Ben

well with that time frame perhaps you can do the Desert Raid in the Nissan as support, could make a fortune if you had cold beer on board

I am glad to hear that both Dean and Ben are on the mend.
The recovery process from your injuries will seem long and arduous, fraught with difficulty and challenges.
But your passion for the sport will no doubt see you both riding again, albeit in the cooler off road 'riding' season with renewed energy and ideas.
The time off the bike is potentially more time next to the bike in the garage.
Extra time with your loved ones. :P
When last on crutches I found the time to pamper the bike with new forks/shocks/porting/ etc. Time to plan the next rides.
I hope you both mend well with no complications.
