Getting to Bindoon by Degrees and Goat Tracks

Post by Bozo »

The forecast of heat in all directions shaped the Sunday destination as a nearby location.

Ten riders started on the run through Kalamunda and Mundaring Weir. Muddy Peter, B/5, Bruce, Andrew, JC, AAA Anthony, Steve N, R90S Mark, Peter Bee and Bozo took the Fiery Ross goat track and B/5 narrow gutted road to emerge on Bunning Road. A transit on Toodyay Road was followed by the smooth bends on Fernie and Salt Valley Roads before skylining on Stirlingia Drive. A stop at Toodyay had the group reconsider the route as it had already hit 34 degrees C. We shortcut on Julimar to arrive at 33 degrees C at Bindoon. Discussions on real estate and temperatures ensued before a run home through the Chittering Valley and Yarrimbah.

Excellent work by tail end Charlie, Peter Bee and the group made life simple in the increasing heat. It hit 40 degrees C in Perth as I left Canning Highway but was within the promised 32 to 34 degrees C as we left Bindoon.

An enjoyable day out despite the knowledge that we had to have a hot hour for the last part of the journey.
