Re: Thursday March 5 MOJOS MUNDARIN
B/5 beat me to GJ’s and a hot coffee was ready for me - how kind. But only Tom joined me as we left GJ’s and took the usual non direct route to Mojos. The always young Mr Grice was the lone member at Mojos but later Mick, Graham, James, David P and DFS arrived.
4 riders followed me after the Democratically Decided Destination (DDD) of Toodyay Bakery was selected as a short ride due to the expected high temperatures.
We proceeded through Parkerville taking Roland Rd to access O’Brien Rd. No blocked roads this time and we stopped at the Peter Brock Memorial for a break, noting it was 20 years since his unfortunate passing. Minor diversion on Copley - Dale then Berry all the way to rejoin Toodyay Rd, taking Lover’s Lane, River and Julimar to arrive at Toodyay Bakery at around 11:30am and a temperature of 33 degrees.
First time ever I’ve walked into the Bakery with no other customers. We selected our goodies and proceeded to the first floor balcony where a light relatively cool breeze made it a pleasant experience.
Normal varied discussion but unfortunately the unsettled world we now live in dominated.
The ride home was the usual combination of Toodyay, Racecourse, Sandplain, Salt Valley, Fernie, Toodyay, Stoneville, GEH.
The temperature rose to 36 degrees on the GEH, but overall as we kept moving it was bearable.
Thanks to all for joining me with special thanks to Mick for his usual solid TEC duty.
