Currently thinking of heading down Friday, yet to pick a place to stay. Saves an early start.
Are we planning on a BBQ or the Kirup Pub for the Saturday night meal ??

Do we want to meet up on the way down and travel together or are people going to make their own way down? I will be leaving home about 6 am and head down the freeway, perhaps meet at the vehicle checking area just south of Karnup rd at 6.30 then down the freeway and cut across to Wellington rd and down through Dardanup/ Boyunup rds to pick up the South West highway, that should get us there about 8.30 for 9 start.
Bully,

Rego is at 9am so 6h30 at the truck bay after Karnup on the Bunbury freeway is good. Can wait till 6h45 to leave latest. Another 170 km from there. I have worked out a route similar to what you mentioned. Don't know Wellington rd, but Wesseley [turn left at Biningup].

Pub for Sat eve!

Looks like it may be wettish...at least no dust!

Cheers

Are we talking about where Karnup Rd crosses Kwinana/Bunbury Freeway or where Karnup Rd crosses SW Hwy?

I think Bully is saying down SW Hwy to Burekup turn left at Dowdells Rd to end, right into Ferguson (into Dardanup) left on Boyanup-Picton Rd to Boyanup then left on SW Hwy head towards Kirup etc. This cuts off the Bunbury corner for people travelling down the SW Hwy.

Acouple of kms past Karnup rd is a vehicle checking area, usually used for random breath tests, ( and for having a wee stop). There is one either side of the road, after that the speed changes to 110, parking in there for 20 cars, so a few bikes should fit easily.

Just to be clear the truck stop is on the Kwinana/Bunbury Freeway 2 km south of where Karnup Rd crosses SW Hwy.

I'll try and be at the truck bay for 6.30am but if I'm not there I'll see you at WCTB in Kirup.
Sounds like a pub dinner is the go.

after the truck bay I figure down the freeway to Biningup +/- 80k's, left ion Wesselley, thru to SW Hway. Right on SW to Waterloo rd, there is a roadhouse there, left on Waterloo too Ferguson, right to Picton-Boyanup, left to SWHway, left on SW to Doonybrook.

What a great weekend, learnt some new skills and drills and got to play on controlled tracks for awhile. John runs a great operation and has some awsome riding tracks at his disposal

he is talking about organising a tour of the south west in November if he can get enough interest.
