After having Clyde in for a health check today it was pointed out that the radiator fan wasn't working. Upon checking it tonight I couldn't turn the fan blade. So pulled the fan out.
I could turn it once I got it out but there was a bit of dirt in the fan blade motor. So used a tin full of WD40 and some compressed air and all is working well again.
So guys please check you can turn the fan blade, you can reach it while it is still in place.
This won't effect those guys that don't go off the bitumen.

A chain is something that can be fixed in the bush. Not like a broken shaft drive
The fan is something that I only ever hear while riding behind a R1200GS because we are riding so slow that there wasn't enough air passing thru the radiator.

mmmm...mine was in for it's 40k service 2 weeks ago. Was told the fan is seized and $420 smackers would see me on my way. Didn't get it done. Was shown by them on picking up how to stick my finger in and turn it. On getting home turned the fan, and could feel the dirt loosening up and it turns easily now. They didn't even do that!!! I haven't removed it yet to do a thorough clean.
Not sure how it would have seized as I have never seen the temp above normal operating temp and it has been cool air riding for the past 5 months since the 30k service in May.
Its not really seized it is just dirt or a dust build up around motor.
Took me 30minutes to pull it out and put back in.
If you need a hand just let me know.
Once you get it out you can run the fan off the battery to see if it is still working.
My fan has only ever come on in some real big sand dunes.

Well had to take Clyde for another ride to see if the problem was still there. Finally after 200km the problem came back which was great so took it straight back to the shop to plug Clyde into the heart monitor machine. We found that the fuel pump pressure was dropping off. New fuel pump has been put into Clyde so we have another 200km ride tomorrow to see if the problem is fixed. I think we have got the problem nailed. Anyone got a spare fuel pump.

Another 200km ride this morning. Then into Autoclassic by 8.30am. Problem is fixed, well sort off. I had to return the fuel pump back to the demo bike. At least we know what the problem is now.
I would like to thank the guys at Autoclassic as it is hard to find an intermittent fault. So thanks for allowing me to bring it straight in with the fault happening. Then stopped what they were doing and got straight onto the bike to find the fault. Thanks also for allowing me to steal parts out of the demo bike to try and find the faulty component. Thanks also for the loan bike, that K1300s is a nice machine.
