G'day all, thought I would introduce myself,Richard Hughes. just joined up after buying a GS1200r, what a bike!. I'm based down south at Bridgetown or "Fridgetown"as it is known at this time of year, took the bike out at minus 3 the other morning!, the novelty wore off when I could no longer feel my limbs.
I'm glad to be back after too long without a bike (4 kids, business etc) I consulted my financial adviser and told her the kids can go on half rashions for a couple of years ( they don't have to be tall!), I'm buying a bike.
I have had all sorts of bikes, Jap, British, Italian, American, this is my first BM and it's great.
My first "touring bike" was a Suzuki GN 250, I rung it's neck all over the state, rain, hail, I did not care.
I graduated to a Suzuki Gs 1000, towed a trailer for 2 years around oz, I don't recomend towing a trailer, trying to pull up 2 up, and a trailer full of gear takes a while, It's only when you actualy hit the emu that has been making a b line for you that you come to a Grinding stop. Still it's all part of it.
I'm gona try and get up to Lake Dumbelyoung for the weekend camp, Do they still have the Black Duck Rally up there?, then I'm planing a ride up to Kal, Sandstone, Magnet etc over a few days if any one wants to join me there welcome.
I recon I'm keen on the Ride to the Rock aswell.
Looking forward to meeting you all.
Happy Trails. Richard.

Re: New Bloke
Richard,
when you planning on the goldfields ride? Trying to do something like that myself soon. Went out there a few months back, plenty of places & roads & want to get back. Have somewhere to stay at Warralakin if you're interested, good place for first night.

Re: New Bloke
Hi Richard,
I'm a new bloke to this forum also.
I rode a black Suzi GSX1100F from Donnybrook to Bridgetown on 11th Oct looking for the Fire Fighting Games.
Did you and another GS rider follow me from Donnybrook?
I stopped in the middle of town and the 2 GSs kept going.
Always interested in a ride - give me a buzz if you need another for short rides on weekends (I now have an R1150R - based on the GS I am told but not really off road capable). 0429 933314

Re: New Bloke
Hi Richard,
Free time depends on the list the boss gives me each weekend but always looking for a "reason" to be off.
Morning of the second Sunday each month is fightfighting training so that's booked but otherwise......
See you around
