It's a very fair question... a bit... not hundreds of thousands of km's though. Which I guess is why I say possibly... and very possibly not! It's likely a bigger issue for the pillion than me!! :) Preference for this kind of ride would always be 1 up though!

So in your opinion... I'd be OK on the S1000RR if I go 1 up??

Bugger, bugger, bugger...

I've just learnt that I have to be in Perth that weekend (21 April).

All my riding and camping gear has to be packed (& my DR crated) for delivery to a truckie on Sat 21st for later transport to Cairns (4 of us riding to Cape York early May). If we were paying full rates for the transport I'd change the date, but we are getting a sensational deal (ad-hoc backloading) so I have to go with the flow.

Sincerest apologies for this but there's been enough interest in the Cave Hill ride for someone else to take over the navigation side of things.

I'll let Chris G know about my change of plans but can someone please keep him in the loop on the ride details (he doesn't visit this forum)?

Take plenty of pics guys.

Shane, last year when I went to Cape York the road was impassable until later in May, I had to cool my heals in Cooktown for a couple of days before being able to get through (I was the first bike through for the year) depends on the weather up there I guess.

Thanks Bowe. We will most likely hit the dirt on 14 May (not in the Davey way :P ). Fingers crossed for an early finish to the wet season.

Well I suppose some sort of planning is in order.
Early start, ride to Cave Hill, camp up, ride home.
That should do it.

Ok, the weather looks good for the weekend.
Coolgardie via the proposed route is about 360kms from Hyden which would make fuel an issue for some, not the Super Tanker obviously.
If people are leaving from Catalanos, I will join in further down the road at Kelmscott, any preffered leaving time?

Judging by the lack of input/interest, this ride can now be declared dead.
Have a nice weekend.
