Hotel as the home of the VIC Guzzi club

Post by KoosWA »

Shouldn't we have a hotel for at least our third home or one night a month? Just one beer?

I see the VIC Guzzi club gets together at a hotel. How about a monthly one somewhere on say a Wednesday or Thursday night. Huh?

Great idea - I suggest the Mundaring Wier Hotel.

Sounds good Koos, where did you have in mind?
I think it will need to be something central with good bike parking options if its going to work.

We should try and avoid selecting a location whereby on the trip home there is a strong likelihood of native wildlife hopping out in front of us. Some of those kangaroos in the greater Mundaring, Stoneville, Parkerville areas are huge.

I think that 1 of the less trendy pubs would be the go, not something like the Balmoral, Broken Hill etc. Somewhere you can park your bike and still see it, the Belmont comes to mind, good beer garden etc.

The British Bike club use the old Carlisle in Queens park.

I think it was the Carisle pub we used to have our meetings at ,they changed the conference room into a T.A.B. and kicked us out. Then the club had no money and nowhere to go.

Is this a motorbike club, or a drinking club?

I'd like to see a decent trips/rides calander.........then we can have a drink and tell stories of the bike rides we have done/ or are planning to do.......(if you look at the event planner it's 2011) !! and the last riders report was from OB, again, nearly a year ago.

if we aren't planning, and riding on trips, there wont be much to talk about over a beer, will there?

I suspect what it is going to turn into is a Grumpy Old Men's Club.

And before anyone provides me with some feedback on the above comment, I am not being sexist because all of the women in our club could never become grumpy, they are all so lovely.

We used to have regular "Social Sips" at different pubs all around the place, but attendance dropped off as riders were a bit worried about drinking and driving.

If you want to start that sort of thing up again, come and visit some of the several pubs I play in, with a Bass player.
Tomorrow (Friday 5th) at Forresrfield (Hale Rd) at about 7:30
