BMW GS Training Course - Stay Upright
West Coast Trail Bike Safaris and Auto Classic are advertising 2 courses for BMW GS riders to be run by Stay-Upright at the WCTBS off road ride park in Kirup in October of this year
They invite riders to register their interest for these courses which are likely to have a maximum number of participants set.
Having done a course with them last year I can vouch for the facilities, the countryside and trails and the hosts.
Details on how to register as provided by Jonas Goulden at Auto Classic follow below:

GS Off-Road Training Courses Planning an adventure bike trip soon? Keen to improve your off-road riding skills? Or just want to get more out of your BMW GS? Auto Classic BMW Motorcycles is hosting GS Off-Road Training Courses this coming spring, so here’s the perfect chance. The 2-day courses cover basic and advanced skills to show you what your BMW GS is capable of doing. We are here to help you get the most out of your adventure. We will have BMW-authorised instructors from Stay Upright conducting the sessions, which will be held at West Coast Trailbike Safaris. The 2 day GS off road training course is $695 per person, including breakfast and lunch. The courses are being held at West Coast Trailbike Safaris, near Kirup (about 40 minutes ride from Bunbury on the South West Hwy – just past Donnybrook). The Courses will be running on; Friday & Saturday (5th Oct – 6th Oct 2012) – 8am to 4pm Or Sunday & Monday (7th Oct – 8st Oct 2012) – 8am to 4pm
Book direct at www.stayupright.com.au or call them on (02) 8824 9980.
All bikes will need to have a safety check completed at Auto Classic BMW before attending the course, and we will be happy to provide this Safety Check service free of charge. The course is only open to riders who own a BMW GS motorcycle. West Coast Trailbike Safaris is 220km from Perth CBD, it’s a purpose built facility and has camping grounds with a toilet and shower, so it’s a great chance to make it into a group trip. If you do choose to stay on site, dinner will have to be arranged yourself, whilst most people will be having dinner in Kirup. Also, all participants will need to have suitable off-road / adventure riding gear. Please note, there are no refunds for non attendance; 14 days notice is required for transfer to another date, and no refunds are given within 30 days of the course.
I am thoroughly looking forward to the courses and I would encourage you to make the most of this opportunity. If you have any questions about the courses or to book your free Safety Check, please do not hesitate to contact me directly on 0422 606 858 or email jonas.goulden@autoclassic.com.au.

Re: BMW GS Training Course - Stay Upright
Not really sure who is running this course but as Jono says if it is anything like the one attended by some members last year, it is worth doing especially if you are new to these bikes, a good piece of advice only has to save you once and it is all worthwhile, on top of that you get to have a yarn to the experts as well as other like minded people.
Re: BMW GS Training Course - Stay Upright
the courses are great and you get to ride in some fantastic bush trails, apparently you have to contact Jonas to register as BMW are organising the training. ( hope this means that Miles is coming across)

Noel
I'll check my schedule and hopefully book in tomorrow, I presume that you'll be camping as that is my intention. Toni will ride down Saturday camp the night also.
I'll check to see if they will let other non-training course people camp there Saturday night also.

Re: BMW GS Training Course - Stay Upright
I am a bit soft these days Ken - I booked myself into Kirup Kabins just down the road - After camping as much as I have over the years I wanted a bit more comfort this time. I have already fractured my fibula above my ankle this year so does this exempt me from further ankle injury??Intrepid Ken wrote:Noel

So K.K.K.Ken
I'm booked in for the 5th ... I hope , and have asked about camping down there but as yet no word back from BMW or whoever.
Do you have info as to where the course is and the camp area that I could glean from you say a map ?
cheers Phil
