Last year's Easter mystery ride was a bit of a fizzer, and I took a fair bit of stick for the lack of water in Lake Indoon. Not enough good connections apparently.
So, anyone got any bright ideas for Easter this year? Remembering that it is normally quite hot then, and if you have no bookings from 2008, no campsites available anywhere by experience.
May I suggest a few......Boyagin Rock....real close but a nice camp spot near Brookton.
.............................The Breakaways, after viewing the Hyden Off-road (like we did 2 years ago), but when I go thru Hyden it ALWAYS rains. No guarantees there (like NEVER raining at Baladjie, or ALWAYS water at Lake Indoon).

Re: Easter Weekend Trip
Now here is a ride report by Andrew Linton, which looks just like the sort of Easter Ride I could get excited about :
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=439729
Dirt and bitumen, but Andrew did it on his R1150R road bike. Andrew is a seasoned dirt rider on hist R1150R, but looks like a great trip to me.
Anyone interested?

Geoff, I would be keen on that run, would like to have a good look at the National Park.

Re: Easter Weekend Trip
At this stage I need to see if I can get away, as I am a Mr. mom with teenagers at home and if I don't protect my assets, you'll read it on front page on the Tuesday after Easter. If I can get away for Fri/Sat/Sun at least, I'll commit to going as a relaxing trip. May be 2-up yet, not sure. Just sounds far enough away from the mad Easter crowds.

Re: Easter Weekend Trip
I will probably not be going away for Easter, but a few people were asking what was on. This ride seems like a good one if anyone is looking for something to do.
If Geoff is unable to lead a ride, perhaps one of you could get the details from him, and organise/lead the ride

Re: Easter Weekend Trip
Myself, Shane and Drenon rode down to the Fitzgerald NP, a couple of weeks ago, great place, you can enter from Bremer Bay across the sand bar, or off Swamp rd, Sand bar is hard packed sand, Point Anne was great, Inlet road was a no goer, deep sand and 3 stuck bikes, (I think Dren left his clutch on the track)
You can also come in from the other direction from Hopetoun take Hamersley drive, I just had a quik look at that side as I had afew drama's in Hopetoun, but looks just as good, good gravel roads, great beaches etc, well worth the look, Some of the tracks are closed due to Dieback.
Point Anne would be my choice, Long drop toilet, free gas bbq, easy walk to the beach, might get full over easter weekend.
I have to pull out of this trip, but if you need info let us know.

Re: Easter Weekend Trip
I'm abandoning my bike over the Easter weekend except perhaps for Farrells Sunday. Taking my AWD just out to camp at Boyagin Rock (just near Brookton) Friday night for something to do and test out my new companion's camping limits. I think Ben and Sue may come too. Otherwise, no ride organised so have a good weekend.
