Trying to organise this event is more difficult than pulling teeth  we have 11 people signed up on the club registration site with another 4 or 5 indicating they want to go without registering as they have been asked to. As explained we have a limited window to book this venue with a maximum of 35. The club will make this event the annual club Xmas party only if we have a min of 20 attendees. The restaurant will open exclusively for us if we have the 35. Less than that they will open it to the general public also. So it is in our interest to have the numbers.
Also we will decide weather or not to hire a bus to ferry people back and forth to their digs so people can get back to their accommodation safely depending on numbers attending. There is plenty of accommodation with the Lawlers offering additional camping options.
Let's get this function up and running as a club Xmas party. put your name on the club registration site as a attendee

Thank you for the effort Bill.

Unfortunately it is just a bit too long of a ride for me on that weekend, with a few things happening on the weekend and the next week that I have to prepare for.

It it was a 2-3 hours ride from home, I would have been a contender.

We have 19 now if we include the Whitemans and Tom and Marion who have indicated they are coming but haven't registered yet. 1 more and its the club Xmas party, Swamps, Bozo, Brian, Bully, Bowe, Phil,Jamie, Noel, Sprocket, JP, Shane, Chris R , Robin , lefty , Mike H, Chris , Robbo , Paul etc where are you?
The more that come the better the party and memories of the event.
I intend doing the dirt with Doris on the back, who is in?

Sorry Bill, Like Koos "A bridge Too Far" for Mary and me to travel separately.

A little closer to home may have been a goer for us.

Sounds like a good venue though, Well Done 8)

Cheers Swampy

We have some good news regarding the Xmas dinner at the Porongerups.
Legend, old fella, GS sparkleman, our very own SWAMPY has offered to drive a minivan or people mover to the venue from Perth. He is to remain sober thru-out the event and then drive people back to their digs when they are ready to go home. He will accept tips for good service and wants a Garden gnome for Xmas.
This is a great plan as wives ' partners etc that were not going on the back of bikes now have the option of being ferried to the event from Perth leaving their better half to ride like the wind, take on some dirt or whatever on their M/C .
This should encourage a few more takers to register a booking on the private members site. Looks like we have about 28 now the Swamps are coming

Latest developments:
The Thai restaurant is BYO drinks :P
Dukes vineyards are looking forward to our wine tasting at their wine tasting rooms from 5pm till we go across to the restaurant.
Dukes will take a max of 4 campers as it illegal for him to operate as a campsite without a licence. He said if you intend camping you must contact him personally on 0898531107. Its ok for him to allow friends to camp.
The Porongorup Range caravan park has chalets and our dedicated driver Swampy  will make sure you get to and from there without dramas.
We will be going over other details at the committee meeting on thisThursday night, so any suggestions let the committee know.
We can have up to 35 people attending so there is still room for more to attend. Just register on the private forum site...............
It is looking like its going to be a great day of riding, and an evening of wine tasting, fellowship and celebration of another Xmas with our great club and its members.. An event well worth attending

I had previously posted this under the Rides heading as hadn't seen this thread, so have repeated it here:

Jane & I would like to extend an invitation for those wanting to camp at this years Xmas dinner.
We have a property located on the south side of the Porongurup National Park and can provide bush camping spots. There is a shed on the block with power, kitchen, toilet and shower. The property is about 8km from Maleeya's Cafe.
BYO everything.
I will put the address on the club’s private forum.
Just give us a call if you want more details.
Cheers,
Steve

Well things are progressing nicely with our Xmas function. We now have 31 registered participants attending. :P
This leaves4 places that are still available. So if you are still intending to attend first come first serve for the last 4 places.
JPS Denise and Doris have been conscripted to make it a real Xmas function, with much frivolity, tall stories, gifts, camaraderie and all those things that make a memorable and fun Xmas party.
There will be various rides and routes down that will be organised with meeting points and times to be announced closer to the event.
If anyone needs a lift down with Swampy in his Swamp-mobile let us know so we can do the logistics.
