Ride to Bridgetown and Nannup Saturday November 23

Post by Bozo »

I am proposing a ride to link up with Tom's group at Nannup.

Leaving Perth at 7:30 am travelling to Dwellingup-Waroona-Wokalup -Collie-Mumballup-Boyup Brook-Bridgetown - Nannup -Kirup - Donnybrook - Bunbury and home up the Forrest Highway.

Plan to meet up with Tom around 1:30pm in Nannup.

It will be a big ride but should be fantastic weather for travelling.

Any takers?

Toms group ( Bill , Nev and partners)will be leaving Catalanos at 9am on Sat. We will be heading down via Collie, Ferguson valley and more back roads to the Loose Goose resort.
We will be having a meal there later if anyone else wants to join us.
The resort may still have accom available. If interested give them a ring.
We intend going back along the coast late Sun morning.

An excellent ride with the company of three very competent motocyclists....Rainer, Swampy and Colin.

700km's without a hiccup, well not a lot of hiccups.

The day started bright and early with all particpants at the meet points ahead of schedule. Swampy taking the award for being brightest and shiniest. A deviation to Dwellingup almost involved an altercation with an emu with a kangaroo spotted on the Nanaga Road. Pies and flat whites at the Waroona Bakery was followed by the scenic Mornington Mills ride to Collie.

Collie to Boyup Brook was via Mumballup past the full Mervyn Dam. The group was at Bridgetown before mid day and itching for more twisties.

Bridgetown to Nannup was an excellent run after we managed to pass the sightseers loping along at 55kph.

Nannup was full of Harleys on a Poker run to Augusta but provided us with Blackwood Burgers and more coffee.

The trip to Kirup should have been simple but for Bozo's misplaced confidence in his navigation skills. Kirup somehow became Ruabon and the crew travelled the Capel-Donnybrook Road to get to the Ferguson Valley.

A trip to Gnomesville broke up the trip in the fantastic scenery of the Ferguson Valley.

Some of the best bike rides in WA were accessed in a single day:

Nanga Road
Mornington Mills Road
Ferguson Road
Bridgetown-Nannup

Thanks for the great company.

Thanks Bozo,Colin and Swamp for a great days riding, I clocked 740k's for the day and was stuffed by the time I got home. However traveling in great company on some of the best, made to be ridden by motorcycle, roads in WA was a pure joy. Thanks again everyone.
