Quick trip to Kalbarri 4-7 April

Post by bill9117 »

Doris and myself took a break taking the GSA to Kalbarri via the Indian Ocean Drive to Geralton then on to Northampton to Horrocks, Pt Gregory and then Kalbarri.
Some of the Kalbarri dirt roads we attempted to ride on were very corrugated with soft gravel and sand and we decided that the endpoint wasn't worth wrecking the bike or Doris by continuing , so some of the tourist destinations were not explored as a result. The corrugations were so bad that Doris had a blowout with her Airhawk which resulted in a very sore bum on the 7 hour return trip. Very strong headwinds on the way back was the only complaint with a very nice ride.
Interesting also we had just sat down and were halfway into a Jurian Bay pie when Anthonys Trish arrived with her mum. She was spending time with her mum after having foot surgery.... small world!

Terrific photos

I can tell by your waistline that cutting down to just the one pie is making a big difference......obviously you are wearing body armour under that jacket.

Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."
