The southern tip of Lake Eyre...no surprises; it was dry this far south. 12 metres below sea level.
There is still a lot of the old Ghan Railway infrastructure left in ruins on the Oodnadatta Track....the Track originally existed to service the Railway. It is no longer a track but a high speed gravel road.

Some Ferals had set up a Hippy Camp on the Oodnadatta Track protesting something...I didn't read their sign so I don't know what cause it was. I'm sure it was important to them (important enough to set up in the middle of nowhere).
Navigation made easy...follow the Orange arrows unless you want the easy option. For the easy option you have to follow the Green arrows.

One of the two lead riders who signpost the route...he hit a roo at speed and did some damage to his right shoulder. Some of you guys may know him. He instructs on the Training Courses.
There were some spectacular 'offs' in this patch of sand. Thankfully, I was there to capture some of it on video

I look forward to catching up with you at the OCR
How are you thinking of coming back to WA...I'm thinking about returning via the APY Lands. Great road, stunning vistas. You need a range of 900 km if you come out at Warburton or a range of about 750km (?) if you come out via Warakurna. I'll be heading to Gascoyne to go to the country race meet there.

I will have the range but I won't have the time. I'm afraid it's slab home for me.
I've been across there before. Is fuel not available at Wingelina any more?
